The Mona Castle Hotel, Seddon
It was with excitement that MDT Building Group were chosen to update the well-known Mona Castle Hotel, best known as the only pub in Seddon.
Requiring a full strip out, the building works commenced with a new commercial kitchen, multiple structural openings designed to increase the space and flow between the public bar and dining areas. A new concrete slab and rectification of subfloors were necessary prior to the incorporation of the fit out works and in preparation for the new Bar.
Solid timbers adorn the newly designed pub with the two-toned painted walls that feature throughout. Flooring now consists of vinyl in the kitchen, carpet within the dining spaces and European oak timber featuring in the bistro & public bar.
The outdoor courtyard is both functional and spacious with ambient lighting overseeing landscaped planter boxes and architectural metalwork.
A grand new bar positioned centrally between the bistro and dining areas contain a combination of solid blackbutt and oak timbers. Timber shelving and curved timber lining compliment whilst the original solid timber bar top was retained and bought back to life with sanding, reshaping and resurfacing.
The dining areas feature solid timber banquette seating with comfortable rustic leather upholstered seating, paired with bespoke table tops that have been finished with solid blackbutt timber edging.
Each section of the hotel eludes a unique ambience and the space invites patrons to have a casual drink in the bustling bar, an intimate dinner or on a larger scale, the perfect space for functions and events.
